Although I wasn’t consciously aware of it, I was a sad, lonely, and confused person when I first met Dr. Sunny Massad. I felt completely helpless as it was a dark time in my life. I spent a lot of my younger years wanting and trying to be a perfect person. But I had a lot of self-judgment about the aspects of myself that didn’t fit that perfect image.
I was in a bad marriage and was terrified to make a change. I needed practical tools! I didn’t know what I wanted and I honestly did not know HOW to motivate myself to make a change.
What Changed?
During my time in the WLICC Life Coach training program, I learned to accept that I was a work in progress. It was a huge step for me to say, “Okay, there’s some icky things about myself that I’m not happy about right now, but I can make my peace with those until I have the energy to change them.”
For the first time in my life, I felt okay about the fact that others might have a negative opinion about me. People can say whatever they want about my life now because I know who I am and I like who I am inside.
A Powerful Place to Be
Most importantly, I discovered that I had choices. I no longer felt like a victim. I stopped thinking about what I SHOULD do and began focusing on what I WANTED to do! I’m becoming more and more true to myself and that’s a powerful place to be!
